Weather in the mountains
A weak influence of high pressure, combined with a northeasterly upper-level flow, will bring generally fair conditions.
In the southern mountain groups, skies will be mostly clear at first. As the day progresses, mostly harmless cumulus clouds will develop. Along the main Alpine ridge, there will be a mix of sunshine and cloud, and toward evening isolated snow showers may occur.

A high-pressure system will bring mild weather to the Alpine region.
Sunshine will prevails across all mountain ranges, with good visibility. High cloud fields are drifting far above the peaks.

Wednesday will start off quite sunny. Clouds will increase in the afternoon, and in the evening a cold front will bring widespread rain, strong gusts of wind and a sharp drop in temperature. The snow line will fall below 1000 m. On Thursday, there will be plenty of clouds, accompanied by a strong, cold north wind. Initially, it will snow in the northern and eastern parts of the region; as the day progresses, the snow showers will retreat to the main Alpine ridge. The strong north wind will persist on Friday as well. Still a few snow showers along the border with North Tyrol, whilst further south the sun will make occasional appearances. Saturday is likely to bring a pleasant mix of sun and clouds. The gusty northerly foehn will persist.
